WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Little Basin Cabins and Campground is looking for one volunteer (couples/families are OK, too) to come stay with us starting June 1st for a minimum of 3 weeks.
A private cabin will be provided for the duration of service, free of charge.
Service would include basic campground maintenance and general help with duties averaging 20 hours per week (see below)
An interview, background check, fingerprints, and references are required for this position.
No experience necessary.
Campground Host Job Duties for Little Basin:
We appreciate our campground volunteers! They are the ambassadors for the campground, our organization, and the state parks. Their ability to answer general questions is invaluable, and their presence in the campground helps make everyone feel safe and well-cared for. They can help campers know about programs at Little Basin, where the trails start, how to be safe in camp, where to find things, and be a positive force in the campground.
The following list contains general campground volunteer host duties. More specific duties may include light housekeeping, front desk work, assisting with maintenance or clerical projects, office help, leading hikes, etc.
Duties:
-Campground Check.
* Go around campground and check campsites and parking permits. Greet campers, answer questions, and ask those who need to check in or move vehicles to do so.
* Go through campground at check out time, and remind guests of departure time, how to clean their site, put out campfires, etc.
* Pick up any trash or fallen debris in campground roads or near buildings.
* Bathroom Check. Sweep up any loose paper & refill paper as needed. Report to maintenance if anything needs attendance.
* Campfire Check of Campsites.
* Crumb Clean Check of Campsites. Leave a note if any food has been left out overnight or not properly put away.
-Office Check In.
* Report to office and maintenance about anything needed for the campground.
-PM Campground Check.
* Go around the campground and checking in after quiet hours 9:30-10:30pm and remind campers of quiet hours, check bathrooms, assist as needed and report any problems/concerns to the staff person on call at the site.
Parking available for small RVs or travel trailers. No dumping or electric hookup available for RVs on site; Big Basin State Park has dump sites available, a 15 minute drive away.
Pets, smoking and alcohol are prohibited on campground property.
This is a volunteer position. "Payment" is in the form of free housing.
