WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?

Live-in island property caretakers. Looking for a couple of people to share cottage for year round work on an island estate (connected by bridge Georgetown, Maine).  

Duties would include: 

—assist with oyster farming

—maintain and develop trails

—woods work (thinning, collecting/splitting firewood)

—beekeeping 

—gardening/preserving

—mushroom inocculation /cultivating

—greenhouse development and monitoring

—part time (most winters) care for family dog (German Shephard) 

—monitoring of wind turbine and solar system

—assist with annual Songwriting retreat

other useful skills:

—carpentry

—painting

—stonework (fence mending)

—tractor driving (backhoe, front-end loader)

—small boat operation

—wood stove use

—recreational lobstering (residents only)

 

This is an incredibly beautiful but isolated, wooded estate. Twenty minutes to nearest commercial center (Bath, Maine). Property is located on a quiet cove (mile frontage) with great access for kayaking. Summer tourist season attractions are Five Islands Lobster Dock and Reid State Park. Modern cottage with utilities provided for housing needs.

Compensation will depend on experience. Non-smoking and zero drug tolerance.

Part-time outside income required.
