Small personal care home needs live in couple - Austin, TX
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Three-bed personal care home in Austin Texas seeks couple EXPERIENCED in direct care to move in and take care of three seniors. The job involves cooking, cleaning and maintaining the house, distributing meds, showers and laundry......some of our clients are semi paralyzed, so you will need to learn hoyer lift, as they are two person transfers. The following is a job description: more details furnished on request:
Resident care: Residents are to be cleaned and shaved daily; showers are given three times weekly, but teeth must be brushed, faces shaved etc on a daily basis. Some residents are semi bed bound, but are to be placed in reclining chairs throughout the day
Meals: residents receive three meals daily and a light snack..meals are to be nutritious and hot….we do not make a lot of sandwiches or serve a lot of processed food, so cooking is required.
Cleaning: The house is divided into two parts, with the back portion devoted to the live in caregivers. The front areas must be cleaned, swept, mopped and dusted on a regular basis. The kitchen must be cleaned immediately after use.
Medications: Caregivers dispense and order patients’ medications as per doctor’s orders…this chore will be taught to the caregiver
Laundry: Laundry facilities—resident clothes and bedclothes are to be washed and put away on a timely basis; caregivers are free to use facilities for own washing
Compensation: in addition to room and board caregivers are paid $2,000/month(taxes are taken out—payment is twice monthly) Should you need cash draws on before the pay period ends, not a problem. Time off: you receive three 24 hour days per month(sat noon to sun noon) plus one 8 hour day (Friday noon to 8pm). If the census climbs over three, there will be additional compensation.
Room: there are two large rooms in the back of the house with a private entrance(opens onto the fenced back yard) each of the rooms has a window unit air conditioner to supplement the central air in the house. There is a private bathroom outside of the bedroom to be used by caregivers. All utilities, including cable, electric, gas and phone are included with room. There is also a large lockable storage bin in the back yard, for use by the caregivers. Should the census climb over five, the rooms offered will be reduced to one room with a private entrance, and the attendants will be furnished with an apartment within walking distance of the facility.
Board: As long as you eat the food prepared for the residents, there is no charge for your meals. A menu is prepared weekly, and you order food from that menu. Any extra food or snack are not covered. There is a supply hut in the back yard…whenever you need toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap etc, you fill out a requisition slip and it is delivered to you.
The job entails keeping the residents clean, hydrated, fed and safe from harm. The couple I am looking for is mature, strong and experienced in resident care. We will train you in our ways, but you will need to learn or know the art of changing a diaper and sheets while resident is in bed. It is necessary that both members of the team are able render direct care. I prefer a couple so that you are not held captive 24/7—most of the time the residents are snoozing, so you are free to read, cruise the internet, snooze or watch TV. You will need to adhere to a semi regular schedule, so the residents receive meals, meds and hygiene in a timely manner. There is a back yard and you are allowed a small pet….too many pets are not acceptable…please note: you must clean up after your pet on a bi weekly basis.
This job is not difficult…the problem occurs when the caregiver forgets that they are living in a home dedicated to the care and welfare of the residents. You must have a clean criminal record; once hired, you will work in a near by assisted living home for 16 hours (paid) to hone your skills.

Johnson Creek RV Resort, Ingram, Tx located in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country, about one hour nw of San Antonio, Tx) is seeking workampers for the following positions; A groundskeeper(16hrs wk) 65 hours mo, site overlooks Johnson Creek(premiere site). A person to work the registration/office & misc, working wknds Sat 9-5 and Sun 12-5 (13hrs wk) 52 hrs mo. Also cleaning person during the week (13hrs wk) 52 hrs mo. You will receive FHU, cable TV and WIFI in exchange for your rv site. You will be responsible for your own elelctric. Should you be asked to work additional hours over your required hours you will be paid $7.25 per hour, which will go towards your electric usage. We are a small quiet park, with all cement roads and pads, swimming pool. Wedding Chapel. Unique clubhouse (old ranch house) and new minature western town rally hall, all set in a beautiful working pecan grove, about 5 miles out of town.
The positions are for one person for each opening, in other words (3) seperate workampers. Two persons in one rig cannot accept (2) different positions, tho they can help each other out in any one position.
Openings will start April or whenever start time is worked out. Length of workamping again will be whatever we work out with you personally.
