We're looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual or couple to work from late April to mid-to late September 2019 in a 50 site, owner occupied private campground just outside of Moyie , BC. Camping experience is essential and prior experience working in a campground is much preferred. These are permanent sites.
We will need to you to stay on site at the campground for the majority of the season and you may bring your own self-contained RV unit, no longer than 34 feet or sign an agreement to use the house on site. A full-serviced (30A electricity, water and sewer) site can be provided in exchange for some of the contract. We expect that this position will be between 20-40 hours per week with the heavier load earlier in the season when the grass is growing. Much of the time you will be required to be around the campsite especially on the weekends.
Payment is still negotiable based on skill set and living arrangements however, we are thinking a salary of $2000 per month per couple in addition to payment at a rate of $20.00 hourly per person for hours over 30 hours per week up to a maximum of 40 hours per week in total.
Roles and Responsibilities
- General maintenance of buildings / playground, resort cleanup, mowing, trimming, landscaping, spraying of weeds, basic road maintenance, contractor coordination, river monitoring and various projects and other duties as needed.
- Inspections throughout the resort with ongoing awareness inside the campground
- Understand and be able to explain information on resort rules and regulations
- Co-ordinate with and take direction from an assigned Board Member
- Generally be around the resort especially on key weekends through the summer including long weekends
- Greet and assist visitors
Qualifications
- Possess one or more of the following skills: mechanical skills, electrical, plumbing, painting, small equipment repair, carpentry, landscaping experience
- Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and email
- Lawn Maintenance, trimming, cutting, weed whacking etc.
- Repair and paint tables, buildings, siding and fences
- Tree trimming and chipping branches
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Upbeat and positive personality
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Attention to detail
- Patience with repetitive tasks
- Time management skills
- Experience with basic tools
- Experience using lawn mowers and other motorized vehicles
- Required to obtain a Criminal Record check upon acceptance of position
