Historic trout fishing club in the Catskill Mountains has an opening for a Chef/Caretaker. Responsibilities include: 1- maintaining club buildings and grounds, 2- cooking/serving meals, 3- monitoring property for trespassers, 4- scheduling/tracking member visits. The club is generally occupied by the members only during the months of May, June, September and October, and during this time it is usually occupied only 50% of the time by 1-6 people. Visits during the remainder of the year are infrequent. While maintenance activities are required all year, this posotion allows for a considerable amount of free time.
Compensation incudes occupancy of a charming 4 bedroom wooden farmhouse on the banks of the Beaverkill River in a beautiful valley near Roscoe, NY. The house has been fully updated, and all utilities and maintenance associated with the house are paid by the club. An annual stipend of $3,000 is included as well.
Experience in basic home maintenance/repair and meal preparation/service are required for this position. Successful candidates must also have excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility in dealing with unpredictable schedules and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
