We are looking for a 2-Person Overnight Maintenance & Resident Services Team that will serve
as live-in overnight support for Willamette Oaks, a beautifully situated Senior Housing community
in Eugene, OR. In exchange, you get FREE room and board and other wonderful benefits! Please
see the details below.

WHAT IS OFFERED

We provide a one-bedroom apartment (~550 sq. ft.) where you and your partner would work on a
part-time and on-call basis, trading off every three or four nights with another team to share the
responsibilities listed below. Ideally, you would want to become an integral part of the community,
offering attentive, genuine hospitality and a safe, well-maintained living environment for your fellow
residents.

Although this is not a paid position, all utilities are paid for including free cable TV, Wi-Fi, and
parking. You would also be provided free daily meals, weekly housekeeping, and full medical and
dental benefits. What a screaming deal for a rather modest commitment!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform nightly maintenance rounds: catch and resolve minor issues on the spot —burned-out bulbs, minor leaks, loose fixtures — using tools and supplies kept at the front desk, and log anything bigger for the day maintenance team.
  • Handle a short daily maintenance checklist (bulb checks, seasonal air handler adjustments, security camera status, mechanical pressure logs) and take part in a monthly rotation of preventative maintenance checks (fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, GFCI outlets, panic doors, breaker box access).
  • Provide security for the building and residents during evening hours: nightly resident wellness checks and a full building walkthrough.
  • Provide front desk coverage from approximately 7:00 pm to close (roughly 9:00 pm) to assist residents and visitors.
  • Be able to respond to emergencies overnight by assessing the situation and reacting accordingly.
  • Prepare a self-serve coffee station for residents/staff, do a building check, deliver newspapers each morning before 7:00 am, and manage the front desk until the front desk concierge gets in at 8:00 am.

REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a non-smoking Campus and previous vaccination for COVID is required.
  • Both individuals/partners will be willing to agree to a background check

FAQ

Q: I don't have another individual to apply with me, Can I apply alone?
A: No. You will need another individual to apply as well and work with you in the community.

Q: Do I have to stay awake all night?
A: No. Once your evening rounds, desk coverage, and maintenance checks are finished, you are
on-call for emergencies overnight.

Q: How much of a time commitment is it?
A: One of you will make the rounds and handle the maintenance checks while the other covers the
front desk. Between the evening shift (about 7:00–10:00 pm) and the morning shift (about 6:00–8:00 am daily), that's roughly 4–6 hours combined most days. It is a 3 nights on/4 nights off, 4 nights  on/3 nights off rotation with the other team.

Q: I have a beloved pet! Can they live with me?
A: Yes! Pets make our lives fuller. However, pets are limited to no more than two and under 30 lbs.

Q: Is this a paid position?
A: It is not, but remember: free room, board, utilities, medical and dental benefits, cable TV, Wi-Fi,
parking, and weekly housecleaning.

Q: Is this an assisted living facility?
A: No, this retirement community is for folks who do not require medical assistance.

Q: Can I still work or keep my current job?
A: Yes, however, you will need to be available for both your evening and morning duties, respond to
emergencies overnight, and maintain your coverage 3-4 nights/week. Both team members must be
on-site during their entire scheduled shift.
