Join us at the beautiful white sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico! Exciting opportunities await at one of the only facilities to serve young foster children and sibling groups in Northwest Florida. We are seeking a full-time, non-smoking couple for one of our fully-furnished homes that serve up to 12 children, ages 6-17, in basic care. Applicants must be legally married couples with NO dependent children (or pets) to serve as the live-in “parents” for children awaiting adoption or reunification with family.

Position Summary

The Teaching Parent (TP) couple, working as a treatment team, plays a key role in helping children in group care learn and heal from previous trauma, and are trained/supported as such.  TPs are trained to effectively apply Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and attachment strategies in the group home setting to ensure each youth’s service plan and desired service outcomes are realized within the context and values of the Teaching Family model and a Christian family setting.  The TP is additionally responsible for the safety, learning, supervision and discipline of the children consistent with the trauma-informed and attachment-sensitive philosophy of the organization.

The role: Ministry Leaders lead their staff team in the care and programming for youth in the home they live in. They are responsible for maintaining a cohesive family unit and maintaining a high level of communication with those on the treatment team. They identify spiritual needs, correct negative behavior, tutor, plan activities and events, counsel/advise, and teach the students to work through daily problems that may come up in the course of a day. Additionally, Ministry Leaders collaborate with students and support staff to assure that students complete treatment plans.
