A private duck hunting club in Northern California's Suisun Marsh, seeks a seasonal or year-round, on-site Caretaker. This position is best suited for a couple or two people who work well together and have experience in meal planning, prep, and execution.
The 1,200 acre remote property is a 25-minute drive from the nearest town (Fairfield, California) and about 90 minutes from San Francisco or Sacramento. The property includes modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, central heating and A/C, reverse-osmosis water purification, and a well-equipped commercial kitchen. The island provides fantastic striper and sturgeon fishing, excellent bird watching, and amazing sunrises and sunsets.
Caretakers are provided with a furnished two-bedroom apartment (utilities included), a vehicle for town runs, and salaries.
Responsibilities include:
* meal planning, shopping, preparation, serving, and cleaning up during the hunting season (Tuesday dinner; Wednesday breakfast; Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner)
* cleaning and maintaining the common areas of the lodge (not private rooms or baths)
* modest grounds maintenance including lawn care, facility upkeep, and monitoringa and operation of several water control gates
The hunting season runs from mid-October - mid-February. Caretakers interested in year-round employment and residence, act as a security presence and maintain the facilities during the offseason months (March - September).
This position starts in Spring 2024.
