Treehouse Academy’s ideal House Parents candidates are needed to provide support to our youth in a healing community which will afford them a nurturing family environment, creative outlets to develop necessary life skills and the confidence to actively take their future by the reigns. House Parents must be leaders in the home by managing and implementing all the expectations (family and house rules) and routines in a consistent, predictable manner.
House Parents’ responsibilities will include serving as positive role models, providing nurturing support to attain growth in social capacities, academia, developing healthy relationships and independent living skills. Other duties will include implementing treatment plans, guidance and supervision to youth in avenues such as physical care, development of acceptable habits and attitudes, positive behavioral support, crisis intervention, assistance with the upkeep of the physical environment and helping achieve mastery of identified goals and objectives and the timely, thorough completion of required documentation.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR SKILLS
• Be at least 21 years of age or older
• High School diploma or equivalent is required, paid child care experience is preferred
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record and the ability to pass a MVR Check
• Ability and desire to work and live with youth
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility and willingness to work a wide array of hours, which will include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• *Proven record of sound judgment and ability to work with children in a mature and responsible manner
• Ability to pass a thorough background check and reference verification procedure in order to determine one’s fitness to satisfactorily and safely care for youth
• CPR and First Aid Certifications, CPI Training (de-escalation and restraint training)
BENEFITS OF BEING A TREEHOUSE ACADEMY HOUSE PARENT COUPLE
• An annual starting salary of $40,000 per year per couple
• Fully paid living expenses, which include rent, utilities and a monthly household budget
