Ranch Couple Needed — Full-Time, Live-In Opportunity

Arabela, New Mexico | Full-Time | Housing Provided | $90–100K Total Value: Annually (Based on Experience)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated couple to live and work full-time on our 2,000-acre private ranch in Southeast New Mexico. This is a hands-on role ideal for an experienced Primary Ranch Hand (husband/partner) and a Ranch Concierge/Housekeeper (wife/partner).

Our property serves as a private retreat and event location (6–12 private events per year). The ranch features wildlife (elk, deer, bears, turkeys, mountain lions, etc.), domestic cattle, a working orchard, multiple cabins, ponds, and trails.

We're looking for a self-sufficient, trustworthy, and skilled couple ready to manage the day-to-day operations, property upkeep, and guest support.

 Primary Ranch Hand Responsibilities

(Lead role, typically suited for husband/partner)

General Operations & Security

1. Year-round ranch security and monitoring (especially during hunting season for poachers)
2. Secure all homes and buildings: doors, windows, etc.
3. Regular inspections for storm/wind damage

Animal & Land Management

1. Feed fish and wildlife (elk, deer, turkeys)
2. Feed and care for cattle; assist with veterinary needs
3. Maintain and monitor game cameras (trail cams)
4. Purchase game and livestock feed

Equipment & Grounds Maintenance

1. Operate and maintain ranch vehicles, buggies, tractors, chainsaws, etc.
2. Check and maintain propane and fuel tank levels
3. Grade roads, remove downed trees, and clear overgrowth
4. Maintain fences and hunting blinds
5. Oversee pest control services (quarterly)
6. Start and inspect all engines regularly (buggies, generators, etc.)

Facility Maintenance

1. Perform handyman tasks across all ranch buildings and cabins
2. Maintain ponds and water systems (for both structures and orchard)
3. Yard work: mowing, weed-eating, spraying, blowing debris
4. Maintain orchard systems

Vendor & Admin Support

1. Supervise outside contractors and vendors on-site
2. Coordinate purchasing, receipts, and supply orders with home office (TNT)
3. Submit weekly Friday reports to TK/Toby
4. Assist with prep and clean-up for all ranch events

 Concierge & Housekeeping Responsibilities

(Support role, typically suited for wife/partner)

Facility Cleaning & Maintenance

1. Weekly inspections of all cabins and buildings
2. Flush toilets, run sinks/hot water heaters
3. Dust, clean, debug, and demouse all facilities
4. Clean bathrooms, kitchens, and sleeping areas
5. Laundry: wash and store sheets, towels, and linens

Inspections & Reporting

1. Check windows, doors, appliances, fridges/freezers
2. Monitor for leaks, pest activity, and damage
3. Report all issues to Primary Ranch Hand and home office

Owner & Guest Support

1. Provide hospitality support when owners are on-site
2. Maintain rotating punch list of cleaning duties (daily/weekly/monthly)
3. Help prep for events and support post-event clean-up

Additional Responsibilities

1. Assist with orchard management and gardening
2. Provide backup support with animal care, events, and administrative tasks

 Qualifications

1. Prior ranch or remote property management experience preferred
2. Skilled in equipment operation, repairs, and groundskeeping
3. Strong housekeeping, hospitality, and organizational skills
4. Comfortable with wildlife, remote living, and physical work
5. Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working independently and as a team
6. Good communication skills with ability to coordinate with remote home office
7. Must pass background check; non-smoking preferred

 Compensation

1. $30,000–$40,000 annually (per position listed) 
2. On-site housing provided (Utilities Included)
   1. Equivalent Value of: $27,000-$30,000
3. Total compensation value: $ 100,000.00 per year for the couple
