FEATURED JOB OPENING: Need Energetic Couple for Management and Maintenance of Remote Gallery-Gift Shop on Maui, Hawaii

Aloha, 

Get away from the big Corporate scene and come work for a small top rated family business with great reviews in a serene and beautiful oceanfront environment.  We are in a remote location but stay busy.  We have been in business for 32 years.  We are looking for a self-motivated, goal-oriented, high-energy, couple that together can run our Gallery gift shop as well as maintain our shop and grounds independently. 

Someone with excellent people skills and a professional appearance is needed for the shop. Organizing, stocking and maintaining a beautiful display is also important. If one person is the dedicated shop person and the other is the maintenance grounds person that works for us or mix and match it up depending on your skill sets. Shop person must be trained and able to order goods and keep store stocked as well as over see scheduling and other workers. We also have part time  employees to cover your days off and when needing more workers  for the busy high season.  The maintenance for the grounds is all year long as we do not get a "winter" break from the mowing and trimming. The grounds sit on half an acre so manageable.  We are half an hours drive to town or 12 miles away.  There is no mail delivery to the area so will need to get a PO Box in town. Also when in town we will need you to pick up mail/boxes and drop off shipping for the gallery. 

The starting pay is $24 an hour for billable hours as well as housing which is expensive in Hawaii.  Insurance is provided for the FT worker who is needed in the shop a minimum of 35- 40 hours a week.   If one person is in the shop and the other is exclusively doing the maintenance and landscaping that job is not necessarily a full time job.  It consists of weekly mowing and trimming and pool upkeep as well as building maintenance.  On slower months we only need one worker per day in shop.  This is our first time entertaining a couple for the position as we have mostly hired single ladies.  Due to our remote location we thought it might be nice for a couple as many of the ladies have mentioned the isolation is lonely for them.  We can give the couple the same days off so that they will be able to explore the island together when not working.

The job includes a beautifully furnished 1000 sq. foot, one bedroom apartment above the Gallery, Wifi and utilities are also included. The couple must be "on site" or home when the owners are out of town. The owners are nearing retirement age and taking time off to travel and visit family when not on island.

We are willing to work with the right couple and their skill sets.  Must have excellent references and be drug and smoke free with no excessive drinking.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.  Must have reliable transportation. A back ground check will be performed on all applicants.
