We are located in the quiet neighbourhood of Playa Avellanas, just south of Tamarindo in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We offer a perfect setting to relax, unwind, and connect with nature. Our lodge grounds offer a lush green escape and feature an outdoor pool, garden, and patio areas. Our accommodation options include rooms and 2-bedroom villas. All of our rooms/villas have private bathrooms and dining tables. The lodge has a beautiful pool, breakfast bar, yoga pavilion, games room, and juice bar on site. The area around Playa Avellanas is a quiet, safe, laid back neighbourhood. Lagartillo Beach (Playa Lagartillo) located just 200m from our lodge is loved by locals but is rather unknown to tourists. Aside from a few times a year, the beach is practically deserted, aside from a few local fishermen in the waters at sunset.

The lodge currently offers a bed and breakfast type of stay, but due to lack of restaurants in close proximity to the lodge, we would love to be able to offer some lunch/dinner options to our guests. We are looking to bring in an experienced team of chef/restaurant managers who would be able to set up the kitchen and offer lunch/dinner on a set menu basis for our guests.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Use locally available ingredients to create 7 days worth of lunch/dinner options and train our staff to prepare and served these meals to our guests - Set up kitchen and manage it’s operations - Create processes for a smooth operation of lunch/dinner - setup of local supply chain that prides itself on being an environmentally friendly, sustainable lodge, and we are looking for our menus to reflect these values. We are looking to serve locally sourced healthy meals with a focus on plant-based meals, some fish-based options and some meat options. The lodge currently serves breakfast to all guests and has a small juice bar on-site where we serve drinks, sandwiches and light snacks throughout the day.

The ideal candidates will - possess experience working in a similar setting - possess chef accreditation - be eager to set up the operations from scratch - be experienced in cooking healthy, plant based meals - have at least a conversational level of Spanish - be willing to relocate to Costa Rica in December for a period of 3-6 months
