A residential group home for abused and neglected teens ages 10-18 is seeking Teaching Parents - full time. Position for married couple preferably but individuals considered. Our program is a ministry of Christian based rearing in homes run as normal, family daily life for the children to experience and learn from. Each home attends local church services as part of our weekly program. Our horses that roam the ranch are used in Eagala Equine Therapy as well as our horsemanship program. The facility is located on our beautiful ranch in Southern West Virginia where four true seasons are experienced. We are 5 miles from Fayetteville, WV which is home to the New River Gorge where exciting wildlife adventures are the specialty. Rafting, rock climbing, fishing, and National Park trails are waiting for you on your days off work. Unique local cuisine and artisans are thriving invitations to experience here as well.
This is a 3 day live-in position that includes a benefit package. Mentoring and Christian ministry is blended into our program. House parents will need to be able to cook, shop on a budget (for food and clothing), comply with program rules and regulations, teach light housework and chores to residents, attain a valid WV Driver's License to transport residents, and other on the job training duties that will be covered upon hiring the chosen candidates. Salary and benefits package will be determined by qualifications.
Only serious candidates will be considered! A high school diploma or equivalent is required for employement, as well as being cleared by a state and federal background investigation that the employer will pay for. Prior experience in mentoring teen groups, education, ministries, and / or social services work or education is a plus.
