Work Campers Needed for 2020 season - Skagway, AK

We are seeking a work camping couple for the 2020 summer season in Skagway, located at the top of Lynn Canal in Southeast Alaska. Known as the Gateway to the Klondike, Skagway is a bustling town with lots of RV visitors, an abundance of recreation opportunities, and over 1 million cruise ship tourists during the summer months.

In exchange for approximately 35 hours/week per person, we offer a salary of $3,000/month per couple and a RV site (Water & Electric; Sewer/Dump Station) for the work term of May 13, 2020 - September 9, 2020. Previous RV Park / Campground expereince preferred.

The couple will provide Assistant Manager duties at 2 separate RV parks located less than 1 mile apart in the historic gold rush town of Skagway. Team members are expected to work 5 days a week simultaneously and can have the same consecutive 2-days off. Work hours are typically 12:00pm - 7:00pm, but may vary as needed.

Assistant Manager Duties Include:

  • Welcome and register guests using basic software
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Thoroughly clean and stock small restroom facility
  • Take an active role in general upkeep of campground and facilities
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundromat and lock it up each evening
  • Additional duties as needed

We are seeking people who...

  • Are polite, professional and friendly to guests.
  • Are comfortable and competent using tablets, computers, and basic reservation software.
  • Are willing and able to clean small restroom facility with attention to detail.
  • Are self-motivated and willing to take an active role in duties as needed.
  • Have their own self-contained RV in great shape.
  • Have 2 or less well-behaved pets.
  • Can commit to working for 17 weeks from May 13 - September 9, 2020.
  • Can thrive in the variant weather conditions of a small, semi-remote town.
  • Have a positive attitude and are eager to work and live in beautiful Southeast Alaska.
