WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
We invite you to spend the spring/summer/early fall in the beautiful Mission Valley of Montana. We are 15 miles from Flathead Lake. Head on up to Glacier National Park, less than two hours away, for hiking, fishing, and exploring. The Bob Marshall Wilderness is just over the pass, an hour and half drive. World-class flyfishing is a short drive. We're about an hour from Missoula and an hour and 15 minutes from Kalispell. The spectacular Mission Mountains are right out our back door.
We have 10 beautiful acres and an old log house in the Mission Valley, just east of Pablo, MT. We purchased the property with the intent of starting a non-profit retreat center for men with cancer and their families. Our Ranch, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will offer folks a place to get away from the everyday grind of being a cancer patient. We want them to experience the healing environment, quiet setting and majestic views of our little slice of paradise.
We are looking for a couple to help us fulfill our dream of developing the retreat center. This is our second summer here. We’ve accomplished a lot but there’s much more to do! The work will vary but you'll need good handyman skills (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heavy equipment experience is a plus). You must be physically able to do heavy lifting, enjoy outdoor work and not shy away from manual labor. Projects for this year include spring clean-up, landscaping, mowing, building platforms and frames for wall tents, painting the barn, trenching, building/replacing decking and stairs, tree trimming, and various chores around the ranch. Additional chores include cleaning and doing laundry for our guest cabin/glamping tents. If you love to cook, we will likely need some help preparing meals for our guests. We'll also be doing some work on the main house to make it more appealing to our guests.
We have two friendly (and funny!) Nigerian Dwarf goats, a barn cat, and a small dog so any pets you have must be compatible. Schedule is flexible; 24 hours maximum/week in exchange for a FHU RV site - shady with a lovely view of Goat Peak & the Mission Mountains. Start in mid-April/early May and end in mid-October.
Thanks for checking us out and many blessings.
