Looking for a skilled, enthusiastic married couple to join a team of dynamic individuals to provide excellent residential care for high-risk youth. As a faith-based non-profit organization, we are dedicated to offering hope to marginalized teens and families. Currently, we are seeking House Parents to live in and provide trauma-informed parenting to residents, oversee the residential home, and provide day-to-day programming, treatment, and guidance for residents.
Overview Our mission is offering hope, the opportunity for growth, and practical tools to effect change for teens, children, and families. Our focus is creating a culture for them that includes trust, forgiveness, and accountability. We do this by providing highly skilled and quality residential care in the context of meaningful relationships within a family-style living environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operation of the house
- Mentor residents
- Teach life skills and model healthy family relationships
- Intentionally develop positive relationships with residents
- Interview prospective residents
- Assist residents in their pursuit of educational and vocational goals
- Maintain house finances, including balancing the budget and billing for residents
- Participate in weekly staffing meetings with the residential team
- Communicate with caseworkers, teachers, probation officers and/or therapists to coordinate the schedule and treatment of each resident
- Plan and implement programming opportunities for residents, both in the home and in the community
- Administer medication to residents as prescribed
- Assisting in crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Assisting in the development and implementation of residents’ individualized treatment plans
- Other tasks as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Age 21 or older
- Married Couple
- Strong character and ability to pass extensive background checks
- Strong communication skills
- High school diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Valid driver's license (with a clean driving record)
- Enjoys working with teenagers
- Willing to live at the Release Ministries Home
- Has minimal evening commitments
- Demonstrates values of community, honesty, respect, accountability, and responsibility.
- Demonstrates conflict mediation and good interpersonal relationship skills
- Strong adherence to the values and mission of Release Ministries
- Must have the capacity to learn and utilize word processors and online document sharing
