Commercial Property Management Opportunity in Central Oregon offered to a prospective Resident Manager Team consisting of a couple. Included is a one bedroom/ one- bathroom managerial apartment that is nonsmoking/no pets, rent and utilities included for the duration of employment. This property is non-smoking per franchise requirements.
Our economy brand motel, is located middle of town in Prineville, Oregon. Adjacent to the property is a combined bar and diner that share the parking lot. Prineville is a cowboy town that starts buzzing in late Spring and winds down early Fall. Activities through this busy season ranges from local softball teams, gem and fur shows, hiking/cycling tourists, and the Summer end Rodeo Finals. Year-round the weather is typical of a high desert region: summers are warm, winters are moderate. The town is undergoing renovations and there are commercial construction projects in the area.
The prospective Resident Manager Team would have experience conducting business while maintaining and operating a commercial and/or franchised lodging property to its maximum potential and reducing cost/increasing value when arranging for maintenance. Ability to speak in Spanish and or finding ways to communicate and coordinate with the largely Spanish-speaking housekeeping staff is expected.
Valued qualities would be honesty, self-motivated, goal-oriented, customer focused, hard-working, and possess a skill set to handle all aspects of commercial lodging operations including revenue management and sales/marketing.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage and motivate staff to create/maintain a family culture with focus on exceeding customer expectations.
Maintain property and guest rooms per standards outlined in Choice Hotel’s Room Condition training—which will be made available through Choice University, Choice Hotel’s learning/training platform.
Attain and maintain training certifications through Choice University platform—a cost that is absorbed by the company.
Working as a team to ensure coverage of the property’s business matters and maintenance of the resources and supply needed to keep operations running smoothly. If one person is watching the desk, another is getting the tools/groceries needed for repairs or laundry/breakfast service, if one person needs to rest the other is managing the front office business matters, etc.
Develop a strong trust relationship with senior management by providing transparency in reporting and daily communication.
Maintain professional relationships with surrounding businesses and customers staying at property. Fraternizing with customers is not advised—one of the reasons we are seeking a couple.
Ensure the property is up to professional standards—clean continental breakfast area, clean and repaired parking lot, replacing fused bulbs, all locks and windows functioning, etc.
Compensation includes negotiable salary and incentives on online review ratings. Open to discuss how we can help each other for a mutually beneficial relationship.
