WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?

Our client is a seeking a live-in couple to act as Residence Caretakers. While this is a family-owned property that is located on several beautifully landscaped waterfront acres in Nova Scotia, the only full-time residents will be the Caretakers who will occupy a private apartment which is attached to the main house.

Ideally, one of the Caretakers will possess experience in managing a budget and will have specific skill sets in areas such as gardening, landscaping, plumbing, electrical, heating, etc. The other Caretaker will possess a Chef’s experience and background and assume other household responsibilities such as dusting, cleaning, linen, groceries, etc.  Meal preparation will vary from fine dining to country kitchen menus and include the planning, development, preparation and serving to both small and large groups of people.

Both Caretakers will have strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with the owners and their visitors/guests who come from a wide variety of backgrounds and demographics. As motivated self-starters, they will work with limited supervision and demonstrate a “no task is too small attitude”.  They will take great pride in the property and their ability to maintain and showcase this pristine facility, while taking input and direction from key stakeholders. With a background in hospitality, both Caretakers will exercise honesty, integrity and discretion to the highest degree. An understanding and appreciation of art would be a definite asset, as would bilingualism.
