WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Our small ‘handmade’ hotel is located in Yelapa, Mexico near Puerto Vallarta. It is in a remote location, only reachable by boat from Puerto Vallarta. Please check out our website, verana.com
The hotel operates now over 15 years and we have mostly local staff which has been with us for many years. The day to day operation is running pretty smooth. Our operation manager is retiring and we are looking for a person (couple) to step in and keep the good spirit going.
Since our location - where the jungle meets the ocean - is very remote, we are looking for an operation manager (couple) to live on-site and who has at least 4-5 years experience in a similar remote environment.
This job is hands on and includes the following daily task:
- - dealing with the logistics of a remote location since all supply comes in by boat.
- - supervising our kitchen and small restaurant/bar
- - staff management and staff scheduling (we have about 35 staff members)
which includes:
kitchen/restaurant/bar
Spa
Grounds keeper
Housekeeping
Maintenance
Boat drivers
Activities
host (check in/ check out)/activities, guest service
While this position focuses in the first place on the smooth operation of the back end of the hotel, almost equally important is the guest relation.
VERANA is a very intimate environment and guests expect a pleasant and personal ‘front of the house’ person who can communicate and relate to our guests.
Practically, the job requires managing the general operation and systems of the hotel on site. We do have a reliable longterm staff member who is in Puerto Vallarta and manages all business aspects of the hotel, like finances, accounting, payroll, insurances, legal matters, contracts etc.
The right candidates needs to be fluent in Spanish and English.
This position will start Sept/Oct, when our main season starts again. During the summer month (low season) we are open but we maintain VERANA with a very reduced staff.
So lets talk.
Please include a resume and references where you have been working in the past.
