WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Our employment opportunities begin approximately May 1st and continue until approximately October 1st. The dates have some flexibility to meet other obligations that you may have in the Spring or Fall.
Our staff covers two main areas. One being our Front Desk and the other being in House Keeping. At the present time our main need is House Keeping as we will not have certain knowledge as to how many of our staff from last year will be able to return. Both positions do require good physical condition with the ability to get up and down repeatedly during the day, lift up to 40 pounds, and be on your feet for extended periods. In addition, be able to work on your hands and knees is important for our house keeping as we wipe down all floors during each clean and bed making also requires the ability to get up and down from the knees.
The House Keeping shift normally starts at 9 am which is our check-out time. A house keeping shift will generally run 3 to 6 hours. A single house keeper will clean one to three cottages a day depending on the size of the unit. Our check-in time is 3 pm, so all house keeping needs to be completed by that time. A typical two bedroom cottage takes a single person from one and half to two hours to complete. A work camper couple cleaning together should be able to do one cottage per hour. We are very particular about our cleaning and try to go the extra mile on each clean. For a work camper couple that enjoy working together, the house keeping is a good fit as it allows them to have the same schedule, days off, etc. Our cottages are in excellent condition with newer appliances, floor coverings, and fixtures. All of our units are air conditioned so it is a pleasant work environment.
The first 16 hours per week are applied to site rent. (8 hours per person for a couple.) All hours worked after that point are paid at the rate of $12 per hour. Our full hookup sites have cable TV and wireless internet. A year end bonus for completing the season is paid at the rate of $3 for all compensated hours worked during the season. (After the first 16 hours each week.) This brings the total compensation to $15 per hour. All Team Members receive a VIP pass which entitles the holder to free or reduced admission to most Black Hills area attractions. Many of our work campers spend a great deal of their free time exploring and enjoying all the Black Hills have to offer.
