FEATURED JOB OPENING: Slow-Season (Oct-Feb) Innkeepers in the San Juan Islands

The Discovery Inn is a highly-rated 20-room property located in beautiful Friday Harbor, Washington.  Friday Harbor is a delightful little town in the San Juan Islands, not far from Seattle, but much less rainy.  In the summer, Friday Harbor is a premiere tourist destination.  In the winter it's very sleepy.  That's where you come in.

We are looking for an experienced innkeeper couple to manage the Inn during our off-season (October through February) so our regular managers can take time to rest & recover from the craziness of summer.  During the off-season we typically have between 3 & 12 of our 20 rooms occupied, as opposed to 100% solidly during the high season.

You will live on-site in the regular manager's apartment, and be responsible for all aspects of daily operations.  

As the on-site managers, you will be responsible for:

* Hands-on running of the front desk, supporting our guests, providing concierge services, etc.

* Assisting with housekeeping as appropriate, including stripping and checking rooms, washing and folding laundry, etc.

* Caring for the property & providing 24/7 emergency support for guests (such as guests having locked themselves out of their rooms).

* Overseeing the housekeeping staff, facilities, guest relations, and reservation process

* Completing and overseeing low-season projects

We are looking for a high performing couple with relevant experience, tremendous professionalism and integrity and a passion for guest service, who have physical and mental stamina and can embody the role of "Innkeeper" with all that entails. 

This is perfect for a couple who love customer service and work well together.  During the low-season this is not a full-time position for two people, but does require at least one person always being on duty from 8am-6pm, with both of you working simulatnously as needed. Some full days off together are possible as well, but possibly not every week.
