Hillside Haven is seeking a responsible caring couples to work, 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, for two men who currently reside in the home. We will be adding two additional residents in the future which will also increase annual salary. The current residents in the home are brothers and have successfully transitioned into their new home and day program since 2021. Hillside Haven is located just outside the quaint college town of Ellensburg two hours east from Seattle. Unlike Seattle, the climate is semi-arid with low rainfall and four distinct seasons. Outdoor recreation opportunities are abundant- skiing, snowboarding, alpine hiking, and fly fishing to name a few. The home is specifically designed to promote independent living for up to four men with developmental disabilities and utilizes various smart-home technologies designed to support this population.
The care philosophy of Hillside Haven encourages positive reinforcement with respect to each Resident. Our House Parents are responsible for overseeing the Residents’ established daily routines and caring for the home. We strive to integrate all the typical daily opportunities experienced by individuals into a unifying whole, so that these men’s lives are truly as rich and fulfilling as possible.
Position Compensation starting at:
Hourly starting wage equivalent to approximately $55,843 per year, per couple, tax-exempt, based on two residents currently living in the home.
Regular wage increases based on hours worked along with a comprehensive benefit package including high-quality health insurance, PTO, etc.
Housing, utilities, and food are provided as well as a house SUV to drive when on-duty.
Hillside Haven was built specifically to accommodate up to four disabled men and the houseparents. The house is constructed on an elevated 6 acre parcel and features open living spaces with a mix of beautiful wood/carpet/tile floors. The home offers a private House Parent master suite in the home. The Resident owners’ all have separate bedrooms with ensuite baths. The chef’s kitchen offers granite counters, dishwasher, oven and a 5 burner cook-top. The media / theater room is spacious and comfortable for the Resident owners and their guests. Sited on the Badger Pocket hillside, the views abound! Wraparound decks, BBQ and patio areas enhance the outdoor living experience.
Work Schedule:
House Parents operate on a “2 weeks on duty and 2 weeks off duty” schedule.
During their 2 weeks on duty, the House Parents will reside in the master suite in the main house.
Independent living quarters are located in on site which can be occupied free of charge, including laundry/utilities/internet, during their off-duty time.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent; experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred, but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must meet the hiring, training and certification requirements necessary to become a Washington State Individual Provider (IP) through CDWA – Consumer Direct Care Network

A position at Hillside Haven will be contingent upon this certification and the results of a Washington State background check.
Caregivers need to be physically and mentally capable of implementing each Residents’ care plan which can include daily medications, personal hygiene care, behavioral support, meal planning and cooking, housework, light yard maintenance, etc.
Must be reliable, flexible, and passionate about enriching the lives of those with developmental disabilities and have the ability to work in a team environment.
