Farm & Maintenance Operations Manager
We are looking for a qualified person(s) to live onsite, develop an outreach and education program including resident interns, community volunteer days, and sharing of knowledge and resources. It is essential to manage a small staff, oversee maintenance and farm production and have values rooted in collaboration, community building and sustainability.
passionate about food production and working the land, 3+ years experience.
mechanically minded, handy, irrigation and plumbing repairs.
demonstrated communication and leadership skills: ability to manage a small staff.
manage equipment, tools, and oversee maintenance/service schedules.
knowledge of systems: irrigation, plumbing, hydro-electric, solar, water catchment, etc.
knowledge of living systems: orchards, structural bamboo, food production, compost, etc.
permaculture, natural farming, natural building background.
Future Projects: expansion of infrastructure; natural building using local materials; integrated systems for waste, energy, water; structural bamboo program/center; farm to market/table; added value product production; commercial kitchen certification; animal systems.
Benefits & compensation:
$14 per hour full-time salary. Provided housing, utilities, limited internet, health insurance, and access to some food production onsite.
Event Management
We are looking for an organized, motivated person who enjoys collaboration and is looking to grow with a small business and community.
experience in operations and event management positions.
organized, systematic, efficient planning skills.
demonstrated communication and leadership, ability to manage others.
hospitality, event planning and coordination background.
desire to start something new and grow with it.
knowledge of marketing, design, and/or website management a plus.
expected to grow clientele, local partnerships, and community events.
Types of hosted events: community events, farm to table, therapeutic retreats, yoga & mediation, weddings, traditional Hawaiian culture events, dance, hula, educational farming programs: permaculture design, natural farming, orchard establishment, water harvesting, bamboo construction, farm tours.
