WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?

We provide a home for children from failing or failed adoptions (both US & international). All of our youth have experienced early childhood trauma and struggle with attachment. Many are dually diagnosed with other emotional issues.

This opening is for an energetic, ministry-minded couple to serve as Direct Care Staff with boys or girls ages 8-18 or in any combination of any two open positions.  If a couple has children under the age of 5 one parent may work part-time.  Children over the age of 5 may attend our onsite private Christian school at no charge.

This is not a houseparent position. Our children live in the dorms, all staff have their own private housing onsite. We are looking for couples willing to commit to a year of sharing your life and to be a Godly example to our youth.

Direct Care position requires:

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year experience working/volunteering with youth (this could include: youth ministry, mission work, summer camps, Sunday School, VBS, teaching, etc.).
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Be able to pass a fingerprint-based, criminal history background check.
  • Must have a clean driving record. If from out of state, must be able to obtain an Idaho Driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be in good physical health, able to lift at least 50 lbs, bend, climb stairs, stand, sit and/or walk for a duration of at least 30 minutes.
  • Must pass a TB (Tuberculosis) screening test.

General Responsibilities:

  • To work with administrative staff to provide youth in care SAFETY & SECURITY, ORDER & STRUCTURE, NURTURING & CONTINUITY OF CARE through mentoring, supervision, training, behavior management and discipline.

Compensation:

  • Monthly Stipend
  • Private living quarters, with all utilities (phone, water, electricity, heat, trash, sewer, etc., and meals) provided.
  • Basic catastrophic health insurance coverage
  • Life insurance

Note: Hope House is a smoke-free and non-firearm environment.
