We are seeking a General Manager for the Smith Fork Ranch, a small, high-end Guest Ranch/Inn in Colorado mountains, mid-way between Aspen and Telluride..

Ranch is known for its gracious comfort, privacy & stunning mountain scenery; horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking and other outdoor activities; healthy farm-to-table cuisine and exceptional wine cellar.

GM RESPONSIBLE FOR:
1. Managing staff and coordinating all guest ranch operations
a. Food & Beverage service
b. Housekeeping and ambience
c. Guest services, comforts and amenities
d. Outdoor recreational programs
2. Driving Sales & Marketing*
3. Handling business administration
4. Coordinating facilities maintenance**
5. Managing events and activities.***

*Sales & Marketing - manage and coordinate sales/marketing efforts.

**Facilities include buildings, gardens, grounds, farmstead, fish habitat, water system, horse barns and pastures, all managed by Ranch Foreman and maintenance assistance.

***Events and activities - relate mostly to family ranch vacations during middle of summer; and farm dinners, weekend workshops, visiting musicians, private parties and retreats during the late spring and fall for adults.

Year around position. Compensation and benefits based on experience and abilities. Meals during open season and year around housing on property included in compensation.
Possibility for couple, provided each party can perform key full-time roles.

** We REQUIRE a candidate who has management experience at a high end rural lodge/ranch/resort - Please do not apply if you do not have this experience **

--------------------- QUALIFICATIONS / SKILL REQUIREMENTS ---------------------

4 + years of small resort/inn/guest ranch, full service hospitality experience
Experience managing housekeeping/dining/kitchen staff of small, high quality inn or boutique resort
Appreciation and knowledge of fine food and wine
Must understand and be comfortable with high standards in all aspects of hospitality
Experience in sales & marketing
Must have previous successful experience interacting with upscale clientele
Ability to "wear several hats" and be "hands on" in all aspects of guest ranch operations.
Desire to live in remote area of Colorado, to enjoy 4 seasons recreation in mountains & national forest.
