Christian couple to work as house parents in an Adult Foster Care Home located in the Holland/Zeeland area. Housing, utilities, and food provided. One spouse can work outside of the home.
Hours:
On duty from Sunday evening at 8PM through Tuesday morning at 9AM, one houseparent must return for duty at 2:30 PM Monday through Friday but is relieved of duty from 5-9PM on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday evenings; back in the home each night and then until 9AM the following mornings; on-call during day as needed; work one full weekend per month. Additional hours outside of regularly scheduled hours may be necessary to attend appointments and coverage for other staff who are unable to work.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma
- Must be in a stable marriage, financially responsible, very dependable, possess initiative, be able to work independently
- Must have a valid Driver?s License and a good driving record
- Must pass drug testing and fingerprint State requirements
- Must complete all required (paid) training hours through Community Mental Health
- Must be physically capable of carrying 35-50 lbs. up and down flights of stairs; physically able to help with the bathing and care of adult residents
- Ability to provide spiritual guidance to each resident
- Function as part of a team
Education/Experience:
- Education and experience in the human service field or with developmentally disabled adults would be very beneficial but is not required
- Compassion for working with the developmentally disabled
- Excellent housekeeping skills, organizational skills and the ability to follow a routine are a must
- Experience in maintenance and repair of a home would be beneficial
