Job Description:

This position requires Work Campers with good people skills, outgoing and positive personalities to act as part-time camp hosts for customer service, irrigation, and a general cleanup and overseeing of the Park as needed.  We prefer a retired married couple, who will bring their skills and life-long experience from past careers, being able to hear, listen and respond to customer’s needs. We desire motivated self-starters who can take direction, work with the team and work independently.

Job Responsibilities:

Irrigation:  Irrigate grass and flowers preferably during the morning or evening in the cooler parts of the day, as needed.

Camp Hosts:  Assist in greeting guests and providing general customer service, checking guests in and out on the Open Campground reservation program, explaining general information in the kiosk, such as rates, discounts, RV sites, rules, WiFi, vehicle parking, and location of dumpsters, Pet Areas and Dog Park, Cowboy Club House, firewood, plus area attractions and directing and escorting guests to their RV sites, being sure septic hookups are securely in place.  Making change and accurate handling of petty cash.

Directing tenters to the “Tent Area” and if owners are away, overseeing quiet hours are recognized, and the campers are well-behaved.

Updating reservation board, and, as needed, stocking kiosk with paperwork (brochures, maps, receipts, business cards, and envelopes).

Keep a watch on camp fires and sell firewood, as needed.

Oversee the coming and going of vehicles, handing out brochures to those checking out the Park

for future visits.

Landscaping:  Raking, branch trimming and removal, site cleanup, weeding, picking up dog messes or trash, plus cleaning out fire pits and moving picnic tables when necessary.

Maintenance:  Painting signs, staining picnic tables and/or fences, minor repairs, doing odd jobs.

This position is a simple trade-for-site situation.  We will provide a campsite equipped with 50 amps power, water and septic hookups.  Yakima River RV Park is a small, quiet Park with 32 RV pull-thru sites and 4 back-in sites in the campground area.  The owners will work with Work Campers for a flexible schedule.  A couple will work the same schedule.  Hours range from fully worked hours to partially worked hours.  Three eight-hour days a week would be the desired schedule to assist owners and keep the RV Park running smoothly.  Days off may fluctuate.
