Highbanks Society supports young mothers between 16 and 24 transitioning to independent living. We are seeking a caring and mature couple to live on-site for nights and weekends, in their own partly furnished one-bedroom apartment, in exchange for light caretaking responsibilities and support to these young women.
As this is a residential complex with 5 individual units for the clients, a common kitchen, sitting-room, with a play room downstairs. The successful couple can be employed in another capacity during the day, however will be required to be on-site to provide support and emergency guidance during nights and weekends and are responsible for light cleaning and facility maintenance duties.
§ Role model strength, maturity and wisdom in the management of relationships and responsibilities
§ Be available to participate in resident programming when needed
§ Provide light facility cleaning and maintenance duties, internally and externally
§ Be on-call for emergency issue resolutions for facilities or residents
§ Be comfortable in providing emergency child care
§ Set and oversee security systems; ensure residents comply with residency agreement
§ Be on-site from 11 pm to 7 am Monday to Sunday nights, on-call and accessible Saturday and Sunday days
This opportunity is for you if you are a mature and caring couple who are willing to provide support to young residents. As this is a residence, must want to be part of a co-operative housing environment. You will be required to successfully pass Child Welfare and Police Security checks and will have or be willing to complete, first-aid training. This is a pet-free property and no smoking is allowed on facility property. Previous experience working with children/youth would be an asset.
